Si no me doy prisa, cumple 2 años y aún no he publicado esta entrada.

If I don't hurry up, she'll be two before I publish this post.

Está hecha un terremoto. No para ni un momento, más que para tomar el pecho, al que aún está muy apegada.

She doesn't stop, except for nursing. She is still very attached to mum's breast.

Cada vez es más coordinada. Corre mejor, salta mejor, lanza mejor, recibe mejor... Es una niña muy inquieta.

Her coordination keeps improving. She is getting better at running, jumping, throwing, receiving... She is a restless girl.

Su motricidad fina también está mejorando, ¡y ya ha dibujado su primera cara! Su hermana lleva poco con el dibujo figurativo, pero Cachorrito, quizá por imitación, ya está en ello.

Her fine motor skills have also improved. She has even drawn her first face! Her sister just began with the figurative drawing and Cachorrito is already there, maybe as a result of coping her.

Es muy graciosa. Me encantan sus ideas desconcertantes y el modo tan gracioso en el que habla. Es genial tenerla cerca, especialmente cuando estás un poco tristona.

She is very funny. I love listening to her funny ideas and her amusing speech. It's a blessing to have her around, specially when you are blue.

Su relación con otros niños es buena. No sé cómo lo hace, pero siempre consigue que los niños un poco más mayores se ocupen de ella y le ayuden.

Her relationship with other kids is good. I don't know how does it work, but she always gets the older kids to take care of her and help her.

Con su hermana, se lo pasa genial, aunque también se pelean un montón. Se tienen celos, pero no pueden estar la una sin la otra. Eso sí: "Pirañita, no tú mamá. Mi mamá". Y eso se aplica a todo: Mamá, Papá, abuelos, juguetes, comida... Ahora todo es suyo.

She really enjoys being with her sister, although they also fight a lot. They are jealous of each other, but they cannot be without each other. However: "Pirañita, no tu (your) mama. Mi (My) mama." And that applies to everything: Mama, Papa, grandparents, toys, food... Everything is hers. 

Con los adultos es una zalamera. Ya sabe cómo entonar, moverse y hablar para metérselos en el bolsillo.

She is very flattering to the adults. She know how to modulate her voice, move and talk so that they will do what she wishes. 

Tiene muchas ganas de cumplir los dos años. No deja de decir que va a tener dos y a celebrar su fiesta de George (Pig, se entiende). Espero que no se decepcione cuando la fecha haya pasado.

She is really looking forward to be two years old. She is saying that she'll be two all the time. And she also talks about her George (Pig, of course) party. I hope that she won't be disappointed when all of it is over.

Sé que estoy poco activa, pero la vida últimamente está muy complicada. A ver si conseguimos un poco de estabilidad.

I know that I am not too active, but my life is quite complex lately. I hope that I will reach some stability.

Para cada una de las casas de la familia, hicimos unos posavasos muy sencillos. Básicamente, cortamos unos círculos de foam de colores y las niñas los garabatearon.

We made a set of coasters for each house in the family. We just cut some foam circles that the girls decorated scribing on them.

Las pinzas son de madera, forradas de washy tape.

The pins are wooden ones decorated with washy tape.

Son sencillos, pero, como eran muchos, nos llevaron muchos días.

They are simple, but, while there were a lot, it took us several days to make them.

Rums #6: Bolsa para el almuerzo / Snack bag

 

 
Llevo semanas viendo un montón de costuras "egoistas" por la red y con ganas de participar, pero prometí a mi marido no meterme en líos en enero (tanto regalo de Navidad nos tenía agotados) y cumplí.

I've been seeing lots of "selfish" sewing projects in internet and I wanted to be part of it, but I promised my husband not to get involved in new projects in January (all the Christmas gifts work left us exhausted) and I carried out with my word. 

Sin embargo, ya no estamos en enero y había n proyecto que había estado dejando de lado demasiado tiempo: Una bolsa para llevar el almuerzo al curro.

However, it's not January anymore and there is a project that I have been leaving aside for a while: A bag to take my daily snack to work. 

Cogí una cremallera que tenía por ahí, medí el largo del hule y corté todo el ancho que había comprado (medio metro). Después, la cosí como el estuche de Rojo Ababol que había hecho aquí, y ya está.

I took a zip that I had around, I measured the oilskin fabric length and cut all the width that I has bought (half a meter). Then, I sewed like Rojo Ababol's case that I sewed here, and that was that. 

Es una costura rápida, sencilla y la mar de práctica. ¡Estoy encantada de tener por fin mi bolsita!

It is a fast, easy and useful project. I'm so happy to have mi bag at last!

Regalos de Navidad (IV): Setas de Mario de arimigurumi / Christmas gifts (IV): Mario's mushrooms arimigurumi

¿Quién no conoce estas setas de una de las sagas de videojuegos con más títulos de todos los tiempos?

Who does not know these mushrooms from on of the videogame series with more titles? 

El patrón lo cogí de aquí. Es bastante sencillo y se sigue muy bien.

It used this pattern. It's quite easy to follow. 

Como iba con prisa, no tejí las manchas, sino que las corté en fieltro, como los ojos.

While I was short of time, I used filter for the spots, like was proposed for the eyes. 

Éstos están hechos con un ganchillo del 4, pero también hice uno más para mi hermano pequeño, pero con un ganchillo del 2'5 a modo de llavero.

These where crocheted with a size 4 needle, but I also did another one with a 2'5 needle for my little brother to use it as a key chain. 

¡Me parecen monísimas!

Regalos de Navidad (III): Arimigirumi de Chtulhu / Christmas presents (III): Chtulhu arimigurumi

Para quienes no sepan quién es Chtulhu, resumiré diciendo que es un ser mitológico creado por Lovecraft.

For those who ignore who is Chtulhu, I'll make it short by saying that it is a mythological creature created by Lovecraft. 

El patrón es mío, y ya me han pedido que lo cuelgue por aquí, así que, cuando tenga un rato, hago otro y cuento puntos y vueltas, porque, como se puede observar, éstos están hechos a ojo.

The pattern is mine, and I've already have been asked to post it here. I'll do it when I have the time to make a new one, because I need to count crochets and rounds. I did these ones without any reference.

Es una pieza central, con los tentáculos incluidos, con la parte blanca de los ojos tejida y cosida por separado. La parte negra de los ojos es fieltro y está simplemente pegada con pegamento.

It is made of a central piece, which includes the tentacles, the white zone of the eyes and a piece of filter for the black one. 

Son fáciles de hacer y ha sido mi primer diseño propio. A ver cuándo saco tiempo para preparar el patrón y colgarlo.

They were easy to make and it is my first design. I'll try to find the time to prepare the pattern and port it here.

Regalos de Navidad (II): Totoro de arimigurumi / Christmas gifts (II): Totoro arimigurumi

La idea de regalar arimigurumis a nuestros amigos surgió de que un compañero del trabajo me pidió que le hiciera un Totoro como éstos. He de decir que el suyo parecía quedó bastante regular. Ahora que voy mejorando, tendré que regalarle uno mejor...

The idea of giving arimigurumis to our friends as Christmas presents came from a colleage who asked me to crochet a Totoro like these ones for him. I must recognize that his was not that nice. Now that I'm more experienced I'll have to make a better one for him...

Como se puede observar, todavía tengo mucho que mejorar, pero tan mal no estarían cuando no tuvimos que explicar a nadie de qué personaje se trataba.

As you can see, I still have a lot to improve, but they were not that bad taking into consideration that we didn't need to tell anyone what character they represented.

22 meses con Cachorrito / 22 months with Cachorrito

Los meses pasan volando y ya casi tiene dos años. ¡Y lo está deseando! Desde el cumpleaños de Pirañita, no para de hablar de su cunpleaños y de que va a tener "os años".

Months go by and she is almost two years old. And she is really looking forward to it! Since Pirañita's birthday, she is talking about hers non-stop and telling everyone that she's going to be "two years" old.

Su motricidad general sigue mejorando. Le encanta correr, saltar, trepar... Estas fiestas se estrenó en el castillo inchable y estaba encantada.

Her gross motor skills keeps improving. She loves running, jumping, climbing... This Christmas was her first time playing in a bouncing castle and she loved it.

Lanza bastante bien y hace por recibir. Además, disfruta si hay una pelota a la que pegar algún patadón, aunque con poca puntería.

She throws quite well and tries to receive. And she really enjoys kicking a ball, although her aiming is still poor.

La motricidad fina sigue mejorando. Sigue dibujando y pintando mucho. También le gustan las pegatinas y apilar cosas.

Her fine motor skills is also getting better. She keeps drawing and painting. She likes stickers and piling things too.

Habla por los codos. Es alucinante. Se trae unos monólogos y unas conversaciones que te partes de risa, por la forma en que se expresa y por las ideas que se le ocurren. Además, cada vez intercala más y mejor el español y el inglés.

She talks day and night. It's astonishing. She makes the most funny monologues and have hilarious conversation. It is not only how she talks, it is also the ideas that she has.

Se ha convertido en una niña muy sociable, tanto con niños, como con adultos, e incluso con los animales. Habla mucho, juega un montón y busca la interacción con unos y otros.

She has become a very sociable girl with children, adults and animals alike. She talks very much, plays a lot and is looking for interaction with everybody.

Sigue teniendo mucho carácter, pero se ha vuelto un poco más flexible. Si está cansada, es conplicado, pero, si no, se puede negociar con ella en casi cualquier situación.

She is a character, although I've noticed that she's getting more flexible. If she is tired, it's not easy, but it is possible to negotiate with her in most every situation if she's not.

Nuestra lactancia continua. Las dos estamos más o menos cómodas, aunque a veces se me hace un poco cuesta arriba, porque no es algo que pueda delegar y se sigue despertando mucho por la noche. Por otro lado, la idea de destetarla se me hace cuesta arriba. No tenemos prisa.

Our lactation keeps going. The both of us are comfortable most of the time, although it's sometimes hard. You know, it's not something that anyone can do for you and she keeps waking up a lot of times during the night. On the other hand, thinking in putting it to an end makes me feel awfull. We are not in a hurry.

Estoy muy contenta con sus progresos y veo cómo su relación con Pirañita es tremendamente positiva para ellas.

I'm very happy with her progress and I'm aware of how her relationship with Pirañita is extemely positive for them.

¡Cómo mola ser mamá!
