Escribí este post en el vuelo de vuelta del Sewing Camp y aún no lo había publicado. Así de complicada está la vida, supongo. En cualquier caso, aquí está por fin.
I wrote this post on the flight back from the Sewing Camp and I hadn't published it yet. Life can b that complex, I guess. Anyway, here it is at last.
Vuelvo del magno evento del año. No, no me refiero a los Juegos Olímpicos (que a Río no nos apeteció mudarnos en su día), ni a la cumbre del G8. Estoy hablando de Sewing Camp España, por supuesto.
I am coming from the event of the year. No, I am not talking about the Olympics (we didn't feel like moving to Rio back in the day), nor the G8 meeting. I am talking about the Spanish Sewing Camp, of course.

aquí. La idea era juntar a una panda de costureras blogeras y pasar un fin de semana haciendo lo que mejor se nos da: Pasarlo bien haciendo algo que nos gusta. Y, como coser y charlar todo es empezar, pues hicimos un poco de ambas (más de la segunda que de la primera, para que os voy a engañar).
If you hadn't read about it yet, you can find some information about it here. The idea was to gather a bunch of sewing bloggers to spend a weekend doing what we do best: Have fun doing something that we love. Sewing and chatting filled the weekend (more the second one than the first one, to tell the truth).
Como soy un desastre, pensé que llegaba tarde y resulta que llegué la primera. Es lo que tiene apuntarse a un evento y no volver a tener tiempo para mirar el facebook ni nada por el estilo en un par de meses: No te enteras ni del nodo.
Because I am a disaster, I thought that I was arriving yet and I was the first one in getting there. That is what happens when you inscribe to an event and don't have time to check facebook or anything of the like in a couple of months: You are completely outdated.
Parece ser que había un grupo de Whatsapp que necesitarías el tiempo vital de una estrella blanca para poder leer de principio a fin (no hablemos ya de estar al día). No me añadieron, probablemente por el tema del número de teléfono internacional, y debo decir que un agujero negro de tiempo es lo úlitmo que hubiera necesitado estos últimos meses (he estado a tope de curro y me mudé el viernes pasado, ha sido una locura), así que casi lo agradezco.
It seems that there was a Whatsapp group that would take the time life of a white star to read (not even dream of keeping up). I was not added, probably due to the international mobile number and I must say that I should be grateful. A black hole of time is the last thing that I could have handled the last couple of months (I have been to the top at work and I just moved homes last Friday).

El comité organizador se ha salido por los bordes. Todos los detalles estaban cuidados al máximo, tenían propuestas apasionantes para llenar el horario, pero han sabido ser flexibles y dejar fluir las cosas... No hay palabras para agradecer todo lo que han hecho. ¡Sois muy grandes!
The organizing committee has been just incredible. The smallest details had been taken into consideration, the proposed activities to fill the schedules were over the top and yet they have been flexible, allowing things flow naturally... There are no words to thank them for all the great work. You are the best!
En cuanto a las otras blogueras, ha sido increíble conocerlas en persona. Como decía una de ellas: "¡Son 3D y se mueven!" Si no fuera por lo bien que cosen y lo majísimas que son, casi parecerían personas normales. Hemos reído juntas, hemos llorado juntas... (imagináos lo que nos habremos reido para llegar a ese punto) Espero poder seguir en contacto con todas ellas.
With regard to the other bloggers, it has been an incredible honor to meet each and every one of them. As one of them said: They are 3D and able to move! Would it not be because they sew so well and are so amazing people, they would seem to be just normal people. We have laughed together. We have cried together... (imagine how much we have laughed to reach that point) I hope to keep in contact with all of them.
Después de cenar el sábado, hablé con mi marido y me preguntó qué había cosido hasta el momento. Yo le conteste que, bueno, coser, lo que se viene a entender por coser... pues más bien nada.
On Saturday after dinner, I talked to my husband and he asked me what had I sewed so far. I answered that sewing, what you usually understand by sewing... actually nothing.
"¡Pues menuda mierda de campamento de costura!", bromeó.
"What a crappy sewing camp then!", he joked.
"Es que somos costureras y blogueras, que significa que cosemos y cotilleamos. Hoy nos hemos dedicado más a lo segundo." Lo normal, creo yo.
"It is because we are sewers and bloggers, which means that we sew and gossip. Today we have been focussing on the latest." Just to be expected, from my point of view.
Dicho lo cual, para cuando me acosté, había terminado mis bragas del
bikini de La Pantigana (que os enseñaré con detalle en otra entrada), cortado un vestido para una de las peques, puesto mi primer vinilo adhesivo sobre mi bolsa del Sewing Camp (tras algún intento fallido), usado una remalladora por primera vez en mi vida (con Naii sentada conmigo ayudándome hasta que pude apañarme con la máquina), al igual que elástico de caucho... Y rajado hasta las 3 y pico de la madrugada. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?
Said that, before going to bed, I finished my bikini bottoms by La Pantigana (that I will show you in detail in another post), cut a dress for my little one, applied my first fabric vinyl (after a couple of failed attempts), used the serger for the first time in my life (with Naii sitting with me to help me through the process), as well as trying the rubber elastic... And chatted until later than 3 am. What else can you ask for?
El domingo tuvimos mañana de microtalleres. No pude ir a todos (era imposible), pero fue otra mañana bien aprovechada: Cómo hacer un cuello de camisa, coser la cremallera de una bragueta, tomar medidas (ejem, a éste llegue muuuy tarde porque estaba rajando por ahí), hacer un dobladillo de lechuga y un tutorial para hacer monederos con el que me hice tres, apurando la máquina hasta el último nanosegundo.
On Sunday, we had the micro-workshops. I couldn`t attend all of them (it was impossible) but it was a well used morning: How to sew a shirt neck, how to sew a zip to the pants fly, sizing (I missed most of this one because I was distracted chatting around), sew a lettuce hem and a tutorial to sew a wallet with which I made three, stressing until the very last minute.
No puedo terminar sin recordar a nuestra cocinera, que era una señora más maja que las pesetas. Como premio, se ha llevado unas bragas que ya las quisiera yo para mí.
I cannot finish without remembering our cook, an amazing woman. As a reward, she got some panties that I would gladly have myself.
Y, bueno, resumiendo mucho, hemos tenido de todo: Costura, cotilleo, risas, karaoke, sorteos, más risas, más cotilleo, un entorno maravilloso... y hasta un boy y una reina (qué niños más buenos y más monos, por favor). Vamos, de tó, de tó.
Summarizing, we did most everything: Sew, chat, laugh, draws, more laughs, enjoy a beautiful environment... and we even had a boy and a queen (amazing kids those two).
