Mañana termina este Carnaval de Blogs: Madres que me inspiran y hay otra mamá costurera y emprendedora que no se nos podía quedar fuera: La Pantigana.

Tomorrow is the last day of this Linking Party: Mothers who inspire me, so it is time to introduce another sewer and business mum: La Pantigana. 

La Pantigana tiene dos hijos, es arquitecto y, además de coser, hace unos patrones chulísimos.

La Pantigana has two kids, is an architect and, besides sewing, she desings the most amazing patterns.

Sé exactamente cómo llegué a su blog, fue a través del de Inma, Para mi peque con amor, cuando aún no me había comprado la máquina de coser y, claro, más razones para hacerse con una.

I know exactly how I got to her blog: It was throuhg Inma's, Para mi peque con amor, when I didn't have my sewing machine yet. And, of course, it was another reason to get one. 

Creo que lo que más caracteriza a La Pantigana es la capacidad de movilizar a un montón de mamás costureras y ponernos a coser.

If there is something that I amazes me about La Pantigana is her capacity of moving a lot of sewer mums and make us sew.

Sus Cose Conmigo son multitudinarios y, la verdad, no sé cómo sigue metiéndose en estos fregados, con la de trabajo que le damos.

Her Sewing Alongs are massive sewing events and, truth be told, I don't know how can she handle us, with all the work that we give.

La segunda semana de cada mes, organiza la MsMísima Sew Week, en la que nos propone un patrón (o varios, como en el caso de la Aurora) y nos pone a todas en marcha.

Every second week of the month, she organizes the MsMisima Sew Week, in which she proposes a pattern (or more than one, like with the Aurora) and she put us on the move.

No es sólo que nos inspire con su ejemplo o que le copiemos cosas, es que ella misma se lía la manta a la cabeza y nos pone a trabajar. ¿Hay algo más inspirador que eso?

She is not only inspiring us with her example or showing us things that we just copy, she herself puts us to work. Is there anything more inspiring than that?

Además, es otra mamá emprendedora. Tiene una tienda de telas en la que se pueden encontrar cosas interesantes y que no siempre están en la tienda de telas o mercería del barrio. ¿A que mola?

Besides, she is a business mum. She has a fabric shop where interesting stuff, not always available close by, can be found. Isn't that great?

Hoy es jueves, y los jueves son días RUMS en el mundo costuril. ¿Y quién es la mamá que está detrás de esta fiesta de inspiración?

Today is Thursday, and Thursday are RUMS days in the sewing world. And who is behind this inspiration party?

Mara, mamá de dos pequeñas preciosas y una de las costureras blogueras que nos inspiran a todas.

Mara, the mother of two beautiful girls and one of the sewer bloggers who inspire us all. 

Estoy segura de que llegué a su blog cotilleando cosas sobre costura, cuando estaba a punto de comprarme la máquina de coser y, claro, tuve que seguirla, porque cuando quieres aprender a hacer algo, buscas las mejores referencias disponibles.

I am sure that I got to her blog peeping sewing stuff, when I was about to buy my sewing machine and, of course, I had to become a follower, because, when you want to learn to do something, you try to find the best available references. 

Reconozco que una de las cosas que más me llaman la atención de ella es la cantidad de cosas que cose. No me preguntéis de dónde saca el tiempo, porque, con dos pequeñas de la edad de las suyas, la mayoría tenemos poquísimo tiempo para nada. ¡Tiene que organizarse fenomenal!

I have to say that one of the things that amaze me about her is the amount of things that she is able to sew. I don't have the slightest idea of how does she find the time with two little ones like hers. Most of us don't have time for anything. She has to be a great organizer!

Me encanta el modo en el que combina las telas y la cantidad de patrones que nos enseña.

I love her fabrics combinations and the amount of patterns that she shows us.

Y, por si todo lo que nos enseña en su blog fuera poco, importó los RUMS, los jueves de compartir todo lo que cosemos para nosotras porque, francamente, todas arañamos tiempo para coser algo para los peques, pero, ¿y para nosotras? 

And, as if all  the cuteness that she shares in her blog was not enough, she imported the RUMS, the Thursdays when we all share what we sew for us. You know, all of us try to steal some time to sew for the kids, but, what about us?

Si queréis saber todo sobre RUMS e inspiraros, sólo tenéis que echar un ojo a todo lo que se ha cosido esta semana. ¿A que es una pasada la de inspiración que sacamos de esta chica?

Sin embargo, no a todas nos va la costura (aunque os recomiendo que lo probéis, si os pica el gusanillo). Sin problema, porque acaba de abrir una tienda donde nos vende algunos de sus preciosos diseños. ¿Os he dicho ya que me encantan las madres que convierten sus aficiones en una profesión?

However, not all of us are kin to sew (although I would strongly recomend you to have a try if you have ever consider it). No problem. She just openned a shop where she sells some of her beautiful desings. Have I already told you that I love those mums who make a job from their hobbies?

As you can see, Mara is a very inspiring mum and I hope that she inspires you as much as she inspires me.

Carnaval de Blogs: Madres que me inspiran: Marvan / Linking Party: Mothers who inspire me: Marvan

Ayer hablábamos de una madre homeschooler estadounidense y hoy hablamos de una mamá belga afincada en España. Tiene dos hijos y lleva 7 años educándolos en familia. Justo ayer, su hijo mayor volvió a la escuela, mientras el pequeño seguirá aprendiendo en casa.

Yesterday, we talked abour a homeschooler mother from the USA. Today, we are talking about a Belgian mother who has been homeschooling her kids for the las 7 years. It was just yesterday that her eldest son went back to school, while the younger one keeps learning at home. 

No me preguntéis cómo llegué a su blog, porque no tengo ni idea. El caso es que me encantó poder ver a una madre que educaba a sus hijos en casa, en este país en el que es una opción minoritaria y no regulada. Además, sus hijos son más mayores que los de la mayoría de blogs de actividades de homeschoolers, lo que se agradece, porque nuestros hijos no serán pequeños toda la vida y ahí está Marvan abriendo brecha.

I have no clue of how I got to her blog. Anyway, I loved to fin a mother homeschooling her kids in my country, where homeschoolers are a minority and homeschooling is not even regulated. In addition, her kids are not little ones, which is unusual in the world of homeschooling blogs. It's great that they're sharing their activities, because our little ones will also grow up and Marvan is leading the way. 

Es una mamá valiente, a la que no le ha importado ir contra corriente para sacar a sus hijos adelante y darles la mejor educación disponible. Ojalá yo me atreva a dar el paso, si llega el momento apropiado.

She is a brave mother who didn't mind being different to raise her kids and give them the best available education. I hope to be able to do the same if there is a right time for it. 

Tiene algunas actividades maravillosas y su colección de playmobils tiene que ser la envidia de más de no (enter los que me incluyo). Me gusta mucho cómo, con sencillez, nos cuenta cómo afrontan el día a día de la educación en familia, incluidas algunas dudas y reflexiones que surgen por el camino.

She has some marvelous activities and more than one would love to have a playmobil collection like hers (including me). I love the plain way how she shares her everyday homeschooling, including the doubts and thoughts that have appeared on the way. 

En cuanto a las actividades, ha sacado dos libros estupendos para trabajar con los peques: "Actividades con las regletas" y "Matemáticas con Lego". Seguro que les sacaremos mucho jugo.

Related to her activities, she has two awesome books with activities for the kids: "Actividades con regletas" ("Activities with rods") and "Matemáticas con lego" ("Maths with Lego"). They will help us a lot.

 En cualquier caso, lo mejor de todo es poder ver crecer a sus hijos, para convertirse en dos chavales estupendos y con un gran porvenir.

Anyway, the best of all is to she her kids growing up and becoming two wonderful guys with a great future ahead.

Lisa is a homeschooling mum from USA. She has 9 kids, ages 6 to 23, 6 who she is homeschooling and 3 who have already graduated.

Le gustan la decoración y las manualidades, vive según sus creencias y ahora está inmersa en un proceso de mejora de su condición física sin buscar dietas milagro.

She likes decoration and crafts, lives according to her beliefs and is now in a physical condition improvement process, avoiding miracle diets. 

Me gusta mucho leerle. Yo también soy cristiana y me ayuda ver cómo Dios está presente en su vida y sus decisiones.

I love reading her. I am also a Christian and it helps me to see how she has God in the center of her life and decisions.

Creo que llegé a su blog a través de un blog de homeschooling, pero no me preguntéis cuál. Leí dos o tres entradas y me pareció una mujer muy divertida y con las ideas claras. Eso me gusta en una persona.

I think that I found her blog through a homeschooling blog, although I cannot recall which one. I read two or three posts and I found her funny and with very clear ideas. That's something that I like.

El año pasado, escribió toda una sección sobre el modo en el que visten en su casa. Debo reconocer que me hizo pensar sobre cómo visto y cómo me gustaría vestir. Más que lo que ella nos mostraba, me ayudaron las explicaciones que venían detrás.

Last year, she had a section about the way her family dresses. I have to say that it made me think about how I dress and how I would like to dress. It was not only what she showed us, but also the reasoning that came with it.

Ahora está haciendo una serie sobre la relación entre hermanos y estoy cogiendo muchas ideas. Creo que uno de los mejores regalos que hacemos a nuestros hijos son sus hermanos, por lo que cualquier idea que me ayude a mejorar su relación es bienvenida.

Now, she has a section about sibling's relationship and I'm picking lots of ideas. I think that one of the best gifts that we give to our kids are their siblings, so every idea that can help to improve their relationship is very welcome.

Otra cosa que me gusta mucho es su afición a cambiar su casa. Coge cuatro cosas, pinta esto y aquello y ya está: Ha renovado un espacio. No hace grandes gastos, pero siempre está mejorando cositas en su casa. Me parece muy chulo.

Another thing that I really like is her love to change her house. She takes a bunch of staff, paints this and those, and that's it: A renovated room. She doesn't spend a lot of money, but she is always improving something here and there. It's so much fun.

Bienvenidas al Carnaval de Blogs: Madres que me inspiran. Hoy empiezan siete días de bien merecidos homenajes a esas madres que nos sirven de inspiración. 

Welcome to the Linking Party: Mothers who inspire me. Today is the first of seven days of tributes to all those mother who are our inspiration. 

Empiezo por la mamá entre todas las mamás, la más importante, la que ha marcado mi vida, desde antes de que naciera.

This begins with the mother of mothers, the most important one, the one that has shown me everything about being a mum. 

Me refiero a la madre que más me inspira y sigue inspirando: La mía.

I'm, of course, talking about the mother who has most inspired me and who keeps doing it: My Mum. 

Mi madre es una mujer normal en un mundo normal.

My mother is a normal woman in a normal World. 

Dejó su trabajo cuando éramos pequeños, para poder ocuparse de nosotros. Luego tuvo algunos trabajos, siempre compatibles con nuestra crianza; pero renunció a su carrera por sus hijos y, reconocedlo conmigo, eso tiene mucho mérito y es una gran prueba de valor y confianza en su familia y su matrimonio.

She left her job when we were born to take care of us. Later, she had some other jobs, but always those which would let her take care of us. She gave up her professional career for her kids and you have to agree that it is something to take into consideration. It shows her bravery and confidence in her family and marriage. 

Mi madre dejó joven los estudios, pero los retomó siendo madre de 3 hijos. Aún la recuerdo haciendo sus ejercicios en el salón para sacarse el graduado escolar a distancia. Años después, y siendo ya madre de 4, se sacó el título de auxiliar de geriatría. Ella me demostró que quien quiere puede y que, con esfuerzo, se puede seguir mejorando y formándose.

Mi Mother left school when she was very young, but she went back having 3 kids. A can remember her doing her homework in the living-room in order to get her basic studies title. Years later, and being the mother of four, she got a title as Geriatric Assistant. She proved me that working hard, you can get wherever you want and keep improving and studding. 

Siempre nos trata con cariño, siempre tiene tiempo para nosotros, siempre tiende una mano cuando la necesitamos... Siempre está ahí.

She is a loving mother, always has time for us, always a hand when you need it... She is always there. 

Ahora, no es sólo una madre maravillosa, sino también una abuela maravillosa; lo que significa que vuelve a ser una madre maravillosa, puesto que amando a sus nietos, vuelve a amar a sus hijos.

Nowadays, she is not only a wonderful mother, but also an incredible grandmother; which means that she is an even better mother, because loving her grandchildren is like renewing her love for her kids. 

Estoy muy orgullosa de mi madre y, aunque no siempre estemos de acuerdo y hagamos las cosas de formas distintas, es mi mayor fuente de inspiración, como madre, pero también como mujer.

I'm very proud of my mother and, although we don't always agree or have our own ways to do some things, she is my most important inspiration, as a mother, but also as a woman.

Rums #17: Deer and Doe

 
Hace tiempo que terminé esta camiseta, pero aún no os la había enseñado.

It's been a while since I made this t.shirt, but I hadn't shown it to you yet.

Se trata del patrón gratuito Platain que ha dado la vuelta por la blogosfera costuril. Tenía muchas ganas de probarlo.

 It's the Plantain free pattern that has been all around the sewing blogs. I was looking forward to try it.

Ésta tela es un retal que compré en una tienda física. No me convencía mucho, pero estaba baratillo. En cuanto vi el patrón, supe que era la tela perfecta.

I bought this fabric on sale. I didn't like love it, but it was quite cheap. When I saw the pattern, I knew that this was the perfect fabric.

Las coderas no me convencen nada. Son de tela reciclada, pero no es por eso. Creo que la camiseta hubiera quedado mejor sin ella. Sin embargo, la tela de base es tan fina, que creo que la romperé si intento descoserlas, así que se quedarán donde están.

I don't like the elbow patches. They are made of recycled fabric, but that's not the reason. I think that the t-shirt would look much better without them. However, the main fabric is so thin that I'm sure that I'll break it if I remove them, so there they will remain.

Es un patrón muy agradecido y se lo recomedaría a todo el mundo. Me ha gustado mucho.

It's a fantastic pattern and I would strongly recommend it to anyone. I did like it.

Ahora, veamos que ha cosido el resto de gente en el RUMS de esta semana.

Carnaval de Blogs: Madres que me inspiran / Linking Party: Mothers who inspire me

Sé que llevo tiempo fuera de juego, pero han sido semanas duras y no he tenido tiempo para nada.

I know that I've been out of the business for a while, but these last weeks have been hard and I had no time for anything.

Así que he decidido volver pisando fuerte (aunque igual ya nadie me lee y me quedo más sola que la Luna).

So I've decided to come back stronger than ever (although there might be no one reading this anymore and this could be a nonsense). 

En cualquier caso, convoco este Carnaval de Blogs, aunque sólo sea para el mío; porque éste es un proyecto que me apetecía desde hace tiempo y el Día de la Madre está a la vuelta de la esquina.

Anyway, I organize this Linkig Party, even if it is only for my blog; because I've had this project in mind since long ago and Mother's Day (Spanish Mother's Day is the first Sunday of May) is round the corner. 

La idea es publicar una entrada (o las que queráis) hablando de una madre que os inspira. Puede ser cualquier mamá, tanto del mundo 2.0, como del 1.0 (eso sí, mucho respeto a la intimidad de esas mamás y nada de publicar datos personales sin su permiso).

The idea is to post about a mother who inspire us. It can be someone from the 2.0 or the 1.0 world (but be respectful with those mums privacy and don't publish personal data without their permission). 

La entrada debe contener:
1. De qué conocemos a la mamá.
2. Por qué nos inspira.
3. Cualquier cosa que se os ocurra.

The post should include: 
1. How do we know this mum. 
2. How is she inspiring you. 
3. Anything that you wish. 

La idea es homenajear a todas esas mamás que nos inspiran durante la semana del Día de la Madre.

The idea is to honor all those mums who inspire us during the Mother's Day week. 

El Día de la Madre, haremos el recopilatorio en este espacio. En él, podréis añadir todos los post relacionados que hayáis escrito durante la semana.

The Linking Party will finish on Mother's Day by linking all your post to the one that I'll publish that day. 

Y, además, habrá premio, porque haré un sorteo entre todos los blogs participantes que lo hagan antes de la media noche del Día de la Madre, hora peninsular. 

And there will be a price! There will be a raffle for all the blogs that join before Mother's Day midnight (CEST). 

Las condiciones del sorteo son:
1. Vivir en España (por tema de gastos de envío).
2. Cada entrada que participe en el "Carnaval de Blogs: Madres que me inspiran", siguiendo las reglas antes expuestas, recibirán un número, que será su número del sorteo. Por tanto, cuantas más entradas, más posibilidades de ganar.
3. El lunes 5 de mayo de 2014, será el sorteo. Si son pocos números, el sorteo lo harán mis peques. Si son demasiados, utilizaremos la web Sortea2.

1. To live in Spain (because of the shipping costs). 
2. Every post linked to the "Linking Party: Mothers who inspire me" that meet the previous conditions will receive a number, which will be the number for the raffle. So, you know, the more posts that you link, the more chances that you get to win. 
3.  The raflle will take place on Monday 5th of May 2014. If there are not too many numbers, my girls will make the raffle. Otherwise, we will use the Sortea2 website.
4. The winner will contact me and we will decide how to make her price reach her.
